Joint Major in Religion and Sociology Worksheet
A minimum of forty-eight to fifty-six hours (fourteen courses) as follows:
- Sixteen hours (five courses): One tradition-specific course in Religion (with approval of adviser); Religion 300; Sociology 201, 214, or 245; and Sociology 355 (or 355W); and QTM 100.
- Twenty-six hours (eight courses) from the two departments: Three courses in Religion, two at the 300 level or higher; Religion 490W; Four courses in Sociology, including Sociology 333 or Sociology 221; Sociology 457W; and two Sociology courses at the 200 level or higher.
- Six hours (two courses): Two courses from either or both of the departments, at least one at the 200 level or higher.
The course work of individual students should be organized in consultation with an adviser. Honors in the joint major may be earned by satisfying the honors requirements of either department.
