Social Work Programme – The Path to the Helping Profession
Accredited professionally by the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board (HKSWRB), the programme provides theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as analytical skills related to social work, at both the micro level (e.g. intervention skills training) and macro level (e.g. social policy advocacy) through a wide variety of teaching and learning activities, including lectures, tutorials, role plays, community-based learning, experiential learning and a practicum.
Our programme offers one-to-one supervision of the two required social work field placements in social service organisations during the period of study. Students may apply to have one of the placements outside Hong Kong. Previous locations include Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Taiwan. Students are eligible to be Registered Social Workers (RSW) of Hong Kong upon graduation.
