About the Program

Whether you are an experienced leader seeking fresh perspectives for workplace transformation, a talent leader tackling learning and skill challenges, or an aspiring organizational consultant or change manager, our program helps you understand and effectively navigate human factors in driving market success.

We help you become a fearless change agent – for work in business, education, design, technology, research, consulting, nonprofit, and more.

A PEOPLE-FOCUSED ALTERNATIVE TO THE MBA

  • Our curriculum combines management and leadership theories and practices, industrial/organizational psychology, organizational development, organizational behavior, and design methodology.
  • The center of our attention is not business in general, but how the people in the business drive its success.
  • MSLOC prepares graduates to lead strategic change, talent and culture, learning and team performance.

A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH

  • MSLOC students draw upon, and practice with, research and insights from a diverse set of academic and professional disciplines.
  • These include organizational development, organizational and social psychology, learning sciences, strategy, change management, knowledge management, and more.
  • Our approach encourages continuous learning and innovation. By exploring various perspectives, we prepare practitioners to tackle complex, evolving challenges effectively.

ONE CURRICULUM, ONE STUDENT COMMUNITY

  • All degree and certificate students are part of a single community of learners supported by faculty, staff, alumni, and partners.
  • Engage fully, regardless of where you live or your status as part-time or full-time, master’s degree or certificate candidate.
  • Each learner participates in courses drawn from a common learning and organizational change curriculum.

LIVE ANYWHERE – FLEXIBLE OPTIONS FOR PART-TIME STUDY

  • Our courses are held in a hybrid format consisting of live virtual classes and in-person three-day onsite sessions on campus.
  • The onsite sessions, held on our Evanston campus near Chicago, combine live learning with group collaboration and simulations.
  • About half of our students live outside Illinois and take advantage of our unique mix of online and on-campus engagement.
