USC Davis offers an honors program to outstanding students pursuing the BS in Human Development and Aging. The program gives students the chance to work on mentored undergraduate research, take coursework in research methods and statistics in aging, and complete an honors thesis. Students who finish the program earn the designation of Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Aging with Honors on their transcript. Honors Program (Minimum 10 units): GERO 497a , GERO 497b , GERO 497c  and GERO 593   All honors courses may be applied toward the required upper-division gerontology elective units. Students begin in the fall or spring of junior year with 2 units of GERO 497a  as they start developing their honors thesis. In the second semester, they take 2 units of GERO 497b  as they finalize their research design and begin the project. Students complete GERO 593  (4 units, minimum grade
