Located primarily in the Seismological Laboratory, the Geophysics Option in the Division of Geological & Planetary Sciences at the California Institute of Technology provides unique opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students to excel in academics and engage in cutting-edge research. The Seismo Lab continues to foster an “open door” policy, and students are encouraged to study different research topics with several faculty members providing them with a broader perspective of current trends in geophysics. Access to a wide-range of facilities provides students with a solid framework to tackle multi-scale geophysical problems.
Students can also pursue Geophysics as a minor at Caltech.
