Science, technology and computation are the foundations onto which engineers in Neuro-X build their expertise. Their multidisciplinary profile complements the fundamental skills of engineers and medical-domain specialists by a strong technological component, making them not only highly demanded and valued professionals in neurotechnology, but also preparing them for research in neuroscience-related fields.

Program’s objectives

This Master’s program aims at providing students from various backgrounds with a broad and universal training in:

  • foundations of neuroscience
  • computational neuroscience
  • neuroengineering

The breadth of  the above core courses enables students that graduate from the program to work for clinical applications,  product development, fundamental or translational research, either with an experimental or information-technology oriented bend.

The study program is complemented by several projects in research labs as well as a large choice of  in-depth courses in areas such as

  • technology
  • data science and machine learning
  • imaging and image analysis
  • scientific thinking

Thanks to their interdisciplinary profile, graduates have the opportunity to become future leaders, start-up managers, or innovative health professionals in the industry (MedTech, pharmaceutical companies or health care), in hospitals and in research in general. Their ability to see the big picture in terms of systems combined with a realistic perspective of what it means to develop a product makes them highly esteemed professionals able to interact with experts from many other domains.
