Welcome to the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) undergraduate program at Princeton University. EEB at Princeton is one of the top-ranked whole-organism biology departments in the country.  EEB is an excellent choice for many Princeton students as the focus of a general liberal arts curriculum, providing majors with a strong background for graduate studies and professional careers or for employment in the life sciences.  Join us to learn about natural history, the evolutionary aspects of developmental biology, and public policy from world-class faculty.

Where We Conduct Research

Faculty and students join together in classrooms, laboratories and field sites around the world to carry out their research. We have two well established study abroad field stations in Kenya and Panama that students sometimes choose for their Senior Thesis research site. Other students venture to places such as the mountains of Ambohitantely Reserve in Madagascar, rural Alaska native villages, the Kokrobitey village in Ghana, and the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon. There are no physical limits to where we conduct our research. Join us for an adventure of a lifetime!

Path to Graduation

EEB’s program of study is designed to ensure students get a broad and deep education. The department has requirements for EEB majors while providing ample opportunity for students to tailor their education based on their specific interests. For students interested in field work, the department offers an entire semester abroad in Kenya and Panama to learn about the rich dynamics of the tropics.
