The Master of Arts in Drama Therapy is an immersive program designed for theatre professionals, educators, therapists, and healthcare and special education specialists who want to use the intentional power of theatre to facilitate personal growth and promote mental, cognitive, and developmental health. Students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds come together in small, highly individualized classes to study alongside leading professionals in the creative arts therapies. A core component of the experience is hands-on learning, where students complete fieldwork and internships to bridge the gap between theatrical expression and clinical practice.

At the heart of this offering is a streamlined 50-credit program designed for students who intend to practice specifically within New York State, as well as international students who do not require a U.S. license to practice abroad. This program directly meets all educational requirements for licensure in New York State as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT).
