A Pioneer Business Degree with a Hospitality and Real Estate Focus

The Hospitality and Real Estate programme (HRE) is positioned as a business programme with an industry focus on hospitality and real estate. Our school is the first in the Asia-Pacific region to integrate hospitality and real estate research and education. It helps students develop a keen eye for asset investment and service standards, and gain the holistic ability to steer high-level projects that bring value to their clients.

HRE offers two major streams (Hospitality or Real Estate) and prepares students to work in diversified industries in lodging, MICE, theme parks and attractions, travel and tourism, valuation, leasing and transactions, consultancy, real estate development, finance and asset management.

The HRE programme offers a rich curriculum integrating theory with experiential learning opportunities. HRE puts students right in the heart of the fast-paced hospitality and real estate industries. Our teaching hotel, the Hyatt Regency Shatin, the Hyatt Learning Center, a demonstration kitchen, and two SHTM-managed restaurants provide an ideal learning environment for theory–practice integration.

Nurturing leaders with professional accreditation (RICS)

Offering a rich curriculum combining theory with experiential learning opportunities, HRE puts students right in the heart of the fast-paced hospitality, tourism and real estate industries. HRE is also a RICS accredited degree. RICS is a globally recognised professional institution of chartered surveyors. Through connections with key professionals and real service environments, and participation in high-level lectures and presentations by experienced practitioners, students learn the latest trends while building their own dynamic professional network.
