Brown University’s one or two-year, on-campus master’s in biotechnology immerses you in the cutting-edge science and dynamic industry of biotech.

The master’s in biotechnology program engages you in a dynamic learning environment with hands-on experiences and close collaboration with Brown’s expert faculty to closely examine the scientific foundations and industrial applications of biotechnology. This comprehensive approach combining theory and practice will equip you with the skills to make groundbreaking discoveries.

This program offers multiple degree options:

  • Master of science (Sc.M.): Coursework and thesis
  • Master of arts (A.M.): Coursework only (non-thesis)

You can pursue this program full-time or part-time, and participate in a management track or a paid co-op program.

The interdisciplinary curriculum, tailored for students with diverse scientific backgrounds, including life sciences, biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, physics and chemistry allows you to explore a range of topics related to the field of biotechnology, including:
